# Start a RevGRN run

> Works out which genes regulate which from an expression matrix, then simulates the network: its stable states, or how they change when one gene is switched off or held on.

Starts a run and returns it with status `queued`; poll GET /v1/runs/{runId} until it finishes. Runs spend credits.

**Limits:** `maxNetworkEdges`: 500, `simulatedGenes`: 20.

How the engine works and how to read its results: [RevGRN documentation](/docs/revgrn).

**Scope:** `runs:write`.
